Something to brighten my day
Reviews, Writing|I’ll be honest and tell you that these books receive the occasional mixed review, but 90% praise. That’s a good percentage for any book. Readers often start out feeling dubious only to find that these characters win them over. To hear someone who started out feeling very unsure of the story throw words such as “excellent” at you, and to tell you that they dislike books containing erotica, or any hint of menage sex, and yet to their amazement they loved your book, tells me I did the job I set out to do.
In this reader’s words, my characters are much more than sex machines, and so well developed that it all flows.
My background is fantasy as well as other genres combined. Uly’s Comet was my first attempt at romance or erotica. I’ve improved since then, I admit, but the Comet books will always hold a special place in my heart, and not only because my father read book one before he died. My favourite romances involve a good story, sometimes contemporary but also sci-fi or fantasy, mystery… Whatever genre the romance takes place in I want the other aspects to feel equally real and involving. This is where genres combine. The books are a fantasy/action/adventure. They are also a romance, with more than one character developing emotionally. Some move together, some apart, and some find love in unexpected ways. There’s more than one relationship going on between the pages of the trilogy, which I hope to continue in some spin-off novellas. I love these guys. I love this world. And almost every reader who is brave enough to give them a chance finds something to love in the story as well.
The third book is due out soon, so nearer the time I’ll recap on the blurbs and some previously unseen excerpts. Happy Reading!
