A week away.
Life in General|Yayyy. Yes, we’re going away for a whole week. Our plans to go abroad this year went completely out of the window due to other commitments so with plenty of holiday left at the end of the year we decided to book some last minute UK breaks and this is the first of them. Going to visit friends, have lunch with another (friend), then go on elsewhere. Also plan to finally scatter my father’s ashes. That will no doubt be a suitably sombre moment in an otherwise good week but it will also be good for me. For those of you who may not know, he died two and a half years ago. I never intended to hold on to his ashes this long but I wanted his affairs settled — something that can take forever — and to have moved and be settled ourselves first. We also had to chose somewhere and were only allowed to do it out of season from October to March so I had yet another wait. It will b e difficult but it’s not going to get any easier and at least I can return home in a better frame of mind having done this last thing for him.
I also plan to return home more decided re: some plans I’ve been avoiding. I want to add a few things to the website. I also hope to have some news for you all in the coming weeks. Thanks for the messages many of you send and all the well wishes. It’s much appreciated.
Edited to add: yes I am home and had a wonderful break. I thought I had more time before we’re away ‘again’ but I don’t and I’m furiously trying to write in order to catch up on a few promises. Apologies for being quiet but you know what it’s like…nothing to say and then there’ll be loads all at once. It’s like London buses where not a one comes a long for ages and then three come all at once!
